Award-Winning Vampire Roles in Hollywood

Vampire has already become a popular theme for horror movies in Hollywood. There are actually a lot of Hollywood actors and actresses that received highly-acclaimed awards for portraying a vampire role. Brad Pitt got his MTV Movie Award for Best Male Performance in his 1994 gothic vampire film, “Interview with the Vampire”

“The Addiction”, a vampire film in 1995, had been nominated as Best Film in Berlin International Film Festival with Lili Taylor awarded the Best Foreign Actress Sant Jordi Award. She also received Best Actress Award in Malaga International Week of Fantastic Cinema.

It was then followed by Robert Pattinson with his massive popularity in Twilight movie sequels portraying as the dashing Edward Cullen. In 2008, on his first appearance  in Twilight Saga, he received the Best Actor Award in MTV Movie Awards, Bravo TV’s A-List Award for A-List Breakout, Scream Award for Best Fantasy Actor, and Teen Choice Award for Choice Hottie. In 2009 for his movie Twilight Saga: New Moon, he raked several awards such as the National Movie Award for Best Performance, various Teen Choice awards and MTV Movie Award for Best Male Performance. In 2010 for his movie Twilight Saga: Eclipse, he received Teen Choice Award for Choice Summer Movie Star.

James Marsters who portrayed a supporting role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV Series also received several Saturn Awards such as Best Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Series – Drama (2001); Cinescape Genre Face of the Future Award (2002) and Best Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Series – Drama (2004).

Stephen Moyer who portrayed the romantic vampire Bill Compton in the U.S TV  series True Blood also received various awards. In 2009, he won Best Actor in a Horror Movie or TV Show in Scream Award and  Best TV Ensemble in Satellite Award. In 2010, he received “Holy Sh*t! Scene of the Year” in Scream Award.
