Intro: Season 2 of True Blood picks up where Season 1 left off. Sookie is grateful to have Bill back but must deal with his new female vampire protege, Jessica. Sam wrestles with several issues: losing Sookie to Bill, hiding his own supernatural ability and dealing with a ghost from his past, Maryann. As Tara settles into her new lush surroundings at Maryann’s along with a new lush love interest in Eggs, she must deal with the murder of someone close to her. Jason, confused and seeking direction in his life, finds solace in the anti-vampire church the Fellowship of the Sun.

Title: “Nothing But the Blood”
Summary: A shocking murder outside Merlotte’s has Bon Temps reeling. Meanwhile, Sookie’s relationship with Bill is tested when she learns about Jessica, and of his involvement in her uncle’s death. Sam recalls a shape-shifting encounter he had with Maryann as a 17-year-old. Jason gets a sudden windfall that allows him to pay for a leadership retreat with the Fellowship of the Sun. Two adversaries find themselves sharing a mysterious dungeon and possibly the samefate.

Title: “Keep This Party Going”
Summary: Sookie is forced to cope with Bill’s obligations to Jessica, as well as the romantic inconveniences the teen vampire’s presence creates. At the Light of Day leadership conference, Jason makes a favorable impression on its ambitious leaders, Steve and Sarah Newlin, though not on his jealous roommate Luke. Maryann casts her spell on Merlotte’s patrons, and Sam proves helpless to stop the revelry.

Title: “Scratches”
Summary: When Sookie is attacked by a mysterious creature, Bill must enlist Eric’s help to save her. At the Light of Day retreat, Jason has second thoughts about the sect’s anti-vampire agenda, but Sarah and Steve counter his doubts with flattery and promises. After snapping at Tara and new employee Daphne, Sam decides to cut and run. A bored Jessica heads over to Merlotte’s, where a smitten Hoyt falls under her spell. At another Maryann-hosted party, Tara finds her attraction to Eggs interrupted by a swirling, aphrodisiac fog.

Title: “Shake and Fingerpop”
Summary: Jason is promoted to a Fellowship of the Sun soldier. While on assignment in Dallas, Texas with Bill, Sookie must deal with Jessica’s presence. Meanwhile, Maryann throws a birthday party for Tara in which things get out of control. Eric makes an agreement with Lafayette.

Summary: While in Dallas, Sookie continues to connect with fellow telepath, Barry. At the Light of Day boot camp, Jason is rewarded for his hard work and Eric reveals a secret about his past with Bill.

Title: “Hard-Hearted Hannah”
Summary: Jason is put in a position where he has to make a difficult physical and emotional decision, while a vampire from Bill’s past resurfaces in Dallas. Sookie sets out on a perilous mission to locate Godric, an ancient and powerful vampire.

Title: “Release Me”
Summary: Maryann and her minions put Sam in a difficult situation. Sookie uses her telepathic powers to try to draw Bill to her rescue. Jason tries to sever his ties with the Fellowship of the Sun.

Title: “Timebomb”
Summary: Sookie’s captivity takes an unexpected turn Sam makes a gruesome discovery at  Merlotte’s. Tara and Eggs eat a mysterious meat prepared by Maryann. Jason pays off his debt to the vampires.

Title: “I Will Rise Up”
Summary: Eric tricks Sookie into drinking his blood, drawing her to him. Jessica meets Hoyt’s mother, who hates vampires. Maryann corners Sam in jail. Lafayette and Tara’s mother recognize Maryann’s evil ways and rescue a possessed Tara. Godric faces his fate.

Title: “New World in My View”
Summary: Sookie, Bill and Jason return to Bon Temps to find it in ruins, with the population bewitched by Maryann’s powers. Sam is cornered in his bar by Maryann’s minions. When Bill and Sookie confront Maryann, Maryann ends up drawn to Sookie. Jessica and Hoyt must deal with Hoyt’s bewitched mother. Lafayette gets Bill and Sookie to try to “exorcise” Tara.

Title: “Frenzy”
Summary: With the crisis in Bon Temps careening out of control, Bill seeks out the advice of Sophie-Anne, the Vampire Queen of Louisiana. Sookie and Lafayette try to protect Tara from herself. Sam turns to an unlikely source for assistance. Hoyt must deal with Jessica’s actions.

Title: “Beyond Here Lies Nothin’”
Summary: The mayhem in Bon Temps reaches a fever pitch as Maryann prepares for her ultimate bestial sacrifice, recruiting Sookie to be Maid of Honor at the bloody nuptials. Sophie-Anne warns Eric to keep the lid on Bill’s inquisitiveness. Jason leads Andy into the heroic abyss. Sam is forced to put his trust, and his life, in a most unlikely ally.
